Enagás Emprende is pleased to share a new milestone achieved by H2Greem with the delivery of its first 250 kW PEM electrolyser, a key step forward in its industrialisation process and in advancing renewable hydrogen in Spain. This project strengthens the company’s role as a leading technological player in the energy transition.

At Enagás Emprende, we celebrate a new key milestone for H2Greem, a portfolio company specialised in the development and manufacturing of PEM electrolysers, which has taken a decisive step in its industrialisation process with the delivery of a 250 kW electrolyser to the Fundación Ciudad de la Energía (CIUDEN), at the Technology Development Centre of Cubillos del Sil, in León, under the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO).
This equipment will enable the production of green hydrogen under real operating conditions, contributing to the decarbonisation of industrial processes and the efficient integration of renewable energy sources. This milestone consolidates H2Greem as a national benchmark in technological solutions for the energy transition and strengthens its positioning within the renewable hydrogen ecosystem.
The electrolyser, manufactured in Segovia, reaches a nominal capacity of up to 5 kg/h of high-purity hydrogen (99.999%) and has been designed to operate with high standards of flexibility, efficiency and robustness, adapting to variable renewable generation environments. This development represents a qualitative leap in the company’s technological roadmap, which began with systems below 20 kW and now scales up to 250 kW.

Proprietary technology and industrial capability
The project was completed in record time, given the technological complexity involved in developing a system of this nature. This achievement was made possible thanks to the work of a multidisciplinary team of 13 highly qualified professionals, who led all phases of the project, from conceptual design to system manufacturing and validation.
One of the most significant advances has been the design and development of new proprietary stacks, specifically conceived to optimise the performance, efficiency and reliability of the electrolyser. This development strengthens H2Greem’s ability to create its own technology and adapt it to the specific requirements of each customer, in line with the highest industry standards.
The delivery of this electrolyser reflects H2Greem’s capacity to transform technological knowledge into real industrial solutions, combining innovation, speed of execution and a clear results-oriented approach. It is a clear example of how startups within our ecosystem are set to play a key role in strategic hydrogen projects.

A project aligned with the energy transition
The project has been funded through the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR) and Next Generation EU funds, reinforcing the value of public-private collaboration as a lever to boost the hydrogen economy and accelerate the deployment of clean technologies.
At Enagás Emprende, we have supported H2Greem since its early stages, convinced that renewable hydrogen will be an essential vector for the decarbonisation of industrial and energy sectors. This new milestone represents not only a technological advance, but also an opportunity to generate value, skilled employment and innovation in territories linked to the just transition.
We will continue to support projects like H2Greem, which combine proprietary technology, talent and industrial vision, and which actively contribute to building the new decarbonised energy system.
