Enagás Emprende, a subsidiary of Enagás dedicated to Open Innovation and Corporate Venturing activities, enters the share capital of Trovant Technology, a company focused on the promotion of biogas and specialized in the development of technologies based on biological processes for the treatment and valorization of organic waste.

In March 2020, Enagás Emprende formalized its entry into the share capital of Trovant Technology, after the Valladolid-based startup successfully completed an acceleration program launched a year ago. For Enagás, this entry means a new boost and support for startups that are developing disruptive technologies in the field of energy transition and decarbonization; for its part, Trovant will be able to access a wide variety of tools and services (training, financial support, access to the commercial network…) offered by Enagás’ Corporate Venturing.

This investment is the result of several months of work in which, thanks to Enagás’ support in market knowledge and presence in the energy ecosystem, Trovant has been able to design a new plan to continue with the development of UBI technology (biogas cleaning and upgrading). Trovant’s proposal is aligned with Enagás’ objectives and environmental strategy focused on the decarbonization of the energy sector and the promotion of renewable gases.

This agreement will provide Trovant with the necessary resources to achieve the planned objectives at both a technical and commercial development level.

With this new investment, Enagás’ Corporate Venturing area has already a portfolio of 12 invested startups and reinforces its commitment to entrepreneurship, innovation and the promotion of disruptive technologies in the field of biogas and biomethane. Trovant also complements the proposals of other invested startups such as Bioengas or SEaB.
