Enagás hosts the 5th TSO Innovation Club meeting to drive innovation and decarbonization in Europe

Enagás brought together the heads of innovation from Europe’s main TSOs at its headquarters to share projects and explore new collaborations focused on decarbonization, supply security, and renewable gases.

On October 29 and 30, 2025, Enagás hosted the 5th meeting of the TSO Innovation Club at its headquarters, bringing together the heads of innovation from Europe’s leading TSOs to share projects and initiatives in the fields of innovation and new business. The goal: to explore collaborations and work jointly toward decarbonization and energy supply security in Europe. This meeting took place just before the Hydrogen Technology Observatory workshop, “Ensuring the integrity of hydrogen pipelines,” also held at Enagás’ facilities.

The sessions addressed various topics of interest for the participating companies, such as potential joint collaborations with startups, analysis of different innovation and diversification projects launched by each corporation, and best practices for preparing our networks for renewable gases.

The event began with remarks from our General Manager of Business Development and Equity Interests, Jesús Saldaña, who, in addition to delivering the institutional welcome, shared Enagás’ strategy and our main diversification and new business initiatives. Following his intervention, Claudio Rodríguez, Director of Technical Services and Technology, highlighted the pillars of Enagás’ transformation and provided further insight into the Hydrogen Technology Observatory.

Throughout the day, attendees visited the Enagás Control Center, and several of our investees —such as Scale Green Energy (focused on infrastructures and services for decarbonization, including CO₂, H₂, and green NH₃, especially for land and maritime mobility), H2Greem (PEM electrolyzers), and H2Site (hydrogen separation)— shared their experiences working with Enagás and the importance of partnering with a TSO like ours to support their growth. Additionally, staff from our Metrology and Innovation Center in Zaragoza presented the innovative Hyloop+ project, which aims to become an international benchmark in renewable hydrogen measurement.

Over the two days of meetings, participating TSOs presented their priorities regarding innovation and new business, shared ongoing projects and initiatives, explored new ways to collaborate with startups, and exchanged best practices in maintenance and the transformation of gas networks for hydrogen integration.

Thanks to initiatives like the TSO Innovation Club, organizations that share common challenges —such as TSOs across different geographies— can exchange knowledge, resources, and capabilities, building the connections needed to accelerate the energy transition and enhance supply security through innovation and collaboration.
