The company has launched a new edition of Ingenia Energy Challenge at the Enagás Innovation Day event, dedicated to innovation and entrepreneurship
Enagás has announced the start of a new edition of the Ingenia Energy Challenge, an open call seeking disruptive solutions to drive the energy transition. This initiative, driven through Enagás Emprende, its Corporate Entrepreneurship and Open Innovation Program, was launched during the Enagás Innovation Day, a day dedicated to innovation and entrepreneurship.
In his speech at the event, Arturo Gonzalo, CEO of Enagás, highlighted the importance of innovation, technology, and digitalization in the company’s strategy to accelerate decarbonization. He also emphasized the need to develop key technologies for the energy transition in the next decade.
The day featured prominent figures in innovation, such as Cristina Garmendia, President of the COTEC Foundation and former Minister of Science and Innovation of Spain, and entrepreneur Iker Marcaide, founder and Executive President of Zubi Group. Both emphasized the crucial role of innovation and technological development in achieving decarbonization goals.
In a panel discussion, experts from Enagás and other companies discussed the key elements for a project to be considered an “Ingenia project.” The new edition of the Ingenia Energy Challenge seeks ideas and projects in three main areas: renewable gases (with a focus on green hydrogen), sustainability and energy efficiency, and Industry 4.0 and digitalization.
The deadline for submitting proposals is January 14, 2024. Winners will receive support from Enagás to develop their solutions, as well as a cash prize of 5,000 euros.
Since its inception in 2015, Enagás Emprende has invested 90 million euros in 18 startups, significantly contributing to the reduction of CO2 emissions.
