Enagás Emprende celebrates a new milestone in its commitment to innovation and the energy transition: two of the companies in its portfolio, H2Site and Basquevolt, have been selected in the European EIC Accelerator program, one of the most demanding and prestigious European initiatives supporting tech startups with high growth potential.
Out of the five Spanish companies that have been selected in the latest edition, two are part of our entrepreneurial ecosystem, reinforcing the value, impact and international projection of the projects driven by Enagás Emprende.
What is the EIC Accelerator?
The EIC Accelerator is a European Commission initiative designed to support startups and SMEs with highly innovative technologies that are close to market. The program offers grants of up to €2.5 million and the possibility of receiving an equity investment of up to €15 million through the EIC Fund. Its goal is to accelerate the international growth of disruptive companies capable of transforming strategic sectors in Europe.
With a success rate of less than 2%, the selection process is extremely competitive, making the choice of H2Site and Basquevolt an exceptional recognition of their technological excellence and potential impact. In addition to funding, the program also provides access to mentors, technical experts and networking opportunities with major corporations and European investors.
Basquevolt: European benchmark in solid-state batteries
Basquevolt has been selected by this European program to receive funding aimed at boosting the development and manufacturing of solid-state batteries in Europe. With this strategic technology, it seeks to strengthen the continent’s energy autonomy and consolidate an industrial ecosystem in the Basque Country that contributes to decarbonization.

This is one of the first projects of this scale in Europe and will serve as a reference for future developments of up to 50 tons per day, positioning H2Site as a key player in renewable hydrogen logistics.
