On June 24, Enagás’ Energy Venture Center hosted a new edition of InnoDays Madrid—an essential event to drive energy innovation and sustainable entrepreneurship from the heart of the cleantech ecosystem.
On June 24, Enagás’ Energy Venture Center became the epicenter of innovation in Madrid during the InnoDays 2025. This year’s edition, focused on the theme “Energy & Cleantech,” brought together startups, corporations, investors, and key players from the entrepreneurial ecosystem with a shared goal: to explore challenges and opportunities that accelerate the transition to a more sustainable energy economy.
At Enagás Emprende, we are proud to have hosted this event and to contribute actively to the exchange of ideas and experiences that strengthen the culture of innovation and collaboration in the sector.
An inspiring day with leading voices
The institutional opening was led by Vicente Parras, Deputy Director General of Technological Innovation at the Community of Madrid, who introduced an agenda addressing topics such as smart grids, green hydrogen, and waste-to-energy solutions. Jesús Saldaña opened the session with a keynote on the hydrogen market, highlighting both the challenges and the great opportunities ahead.
Emilio Martínez presented Enagás’ roadmap toward a hydrogen-based gas network and expanded on our open innovation and entrepreneurship model: “We are innovators, not scientists. At Enagás Emprende, we turn knowledge into value.”
Success stories and roundtables with impact
The event featured roundtable discussions focused on scaling the impact of cleantech startups. Representatives from companies such as Trovant, Boris Levín, and Carlos Martínez emphasized the importance of digitalization, partnerships with strategic allies, and the role of business angels as key enablers of funding.
Roberto Gómez from MOEVE highlighted commitment as the key driver to meet the 2030 decarbonization targets. Meanwhile, the team from H2Greem—a startup supported by Enagás Emprende—shared their experience as Spain’s first Power-to-Gas success story. They stressed the importance of trust in corporations to support growth and reminded the audience that in the green hydrogen business, patience is also a virtue.
In the roundtable dedicated to innovation within large corporations, it was made clear that innovation is now a matter of survival. Representatives from companies like EDP, Cepsa, and Enagás agreed that innovation must be part of a company’s core values and that intrapreneurship is essential to unlocking internal talent. As Carmen pointed out, “our team knows our business better than anyone else. We need that talent to shine.”
Driving the future through collaboration
The InnoDays—organized by the Community of Madrid, Cink Venturing, and Fundación madri+d—are a must-attend event to identify trends and opportunities in sectors that are key to Spain’s and Europe’s development.
At Enagás Emprende, we thank all participants, speakers, and collaborators for their involvement in such an enriching day. We will continue working to build an innovative ecosystem where sustainable energy and entrepreneurship always go hand in hand.
